Josia asked:
This argument does not make a sense! I am sure that, if I kastriert that I not testicle cancer either. I believe, if someone kastriert this as an argument to have, a dog that she removes her brain, around brain cancer.

I’ve never heard this proposed as a reason for neutering dogs. I suppose technically it is true, but I am not aware that dogs tend to be especially susceptible to testicular cancer more so than other kinds of cancers, or even to cancers in general. As such, it is a very weak argument.
EDIT: Nick:
I did not say anything false. I did not say dogs never got testicular cancer. I said that I was not aware that dogs were especially susceptible to testicular cancer as compared to other kinds of cancers, or that dogs were especially susceptible to cancers in general as compared to other canine diseases.
While I am sorry that you have lost your dog to this illness, in the future I would advise you to carefully read other people’s words before you start flaming them.

actually your wrong. my dog just got put to sleep in last month because of testicular cancer. if your dog isn’t a dog that you want to breed ( like i hope it isn’t) they do not need their testicles. my dog wasn’t neutered and got the cancer if we would have gotten him it he probably wouldn’t have got put to sleep.
maybe you should do research before you state something that is false and ignorant
EDIT
jb i wasnt talking about your answer

Most people who support neutering/spaying have many reasons, preventing testicular cancer is just one of the list. Dogs can get it quite commonly in their older age. Pet dogs do not have any reason to stay intact. It is not cruel to have them neutered. It helps to calm down their hormones, not only making them less likely to be aggressive and less likely to seriously injure themselves when a female dog down the road goes into heat, but also to stop unwanted behaviour like marking territory and making it easier for several dogs to live in peace together in a family setting.
Both sides have some strange logic. Many people who support animals being intact say things like evolution is necessary for their species. Or that there’s no way THEIR dog is going to come in contact with a female/male.
