all blood test keep coming back with high wc and high levels calcium. and my parathyroid hormone level is minus 3. they have ordered a mammogram and bone scan and lympnodes are all swollen could this mean cancer. HELP!!

I’m not sure what the -3 value means, but here’s the gist of what’s likely going on: When a person has elevated calcium (hypercalcemia), the most straight-forward cause is over-production of parathyroid hormone (PTH). If you end up with a blood test results showing hypercalcemia, but not elevated PTH levels, then something else is wrong. If an overactive parathyroid is ruled out, then the next logical thing to look for is cancer since hypercalcemia is caused by certain cancers, including breast cancer. Hypercalcemia can also caused by kidney problems, so cancer isn’t certain at this point, but its a strong possibility. I hope this turns out well.
